Read this and I was immediately ashamed of being a Singaporean.
The notion of building a team of elite society obviously left out the part that we educate our kids' personalities. How did we, a country who has the so called first class Education system, screw up our kids such that they grow up to be self-centred bastards?
We are so screwed.
There's no Hope for Singaporeans.
The "Red Cross Society of China Jet Li One Foundation Project" (Jet Li One Foundation)
was founded by Red Cross ambassador Jet Li, Under a strategic partnership with the Red Cross Society of China, the Jet Li One Foundation Project works independently to pursue its charitable mission and agenda. The foundation believes that: "1 person + 1 dollar/yuan + 1 month = 1 big family". If each person donates at least one dollar/yuan each month, our individual donations can be transformed into a much greater fund. When we combine our charitable strength, we can make sure that the most vulnerable members of our global family will receive the help they need.
Embodying the Red Cross' spirit of humanity and philanthropy, we believe that in helping others we will also find our own happiness. Starting in China, our goal is to build a sustainable, professional, and trustworthy foundation platform to encourage social sector development and bring out mass participation in philanthropic giving and volunteerism.
You can donate at One Foundation through Paypal for the China Earthquake. This foundation was started by Jet Li after the Tsunami disaster. To me, its definitely a meaningful and trustable organisation, even though it is based in China.
Then again, we are all humans and there's only ONE Earth that everyONE shares.
Please help spread the awareness of this organisation!
Adversity makes men, and prosperity makes monsters.
Victor Marie Hugo
Only in times of adversity do we show the finest and truest human spirit. Hundreds and thousands of soldiers from the Chinese army, fighting against time to save the children buried under the rubble. Every single child saved raises the spirit of the rescue team, cheers and words of encouragement flowed through the crowd. Every parent waiting anxiously, hoping and praying to hear news about their loved ones.
So touching. I held my breathe as I watched them carry the little boys/girls out. Some had broken limbs, some are barely conscious.
Whatever problem I have now is nothing compared to the sufferings endured by them. We are really fortunate to be just here. I'm fortunate to be sitting here blogging, even though I very much wish I could be there to do my part as well.
Don't see people as what they are. Don't see the race/nationality/religion.
See me as a human.
Look at me and realise that I'm really the same as you.

Earthquake death toll in China may be 5,000 - Yahoo! News
Hands are shaky as I type this. 900 students in China area buried alive, 4 confirmed dead while 3000 rescuers try their best to save them. I wish that they will be okay. Feel like crying. Is this what we deserve?
Please God, if you are there...
Please help spread this message. Donations needed for Myanmar Cyclone Nargis. Every little sum adds up.
